What it involves
Refurbishment is renovation with a date on it. Landlords, sellers and people who have just bought are all working to something fixed, so the programme matters as much as the finish. We sequence trades tightly, we order long-lead items on day one, and we tell you early if a date is at risk rather than on the day it slips.
