Does a 1970s Basingstoke house need a full rewire?
Frequently, yes. If the consumer unit is a rewireable fuse box, there is no RCD protection, or the sockets are round-pin or very sparse, it is due. We get our electrician to test and report before quoting so you are not paying for a rewire the house does not need.
Should we move out during a Basingstoke renovation?
For a room-by-room job, no. For a full strip-out with a rewire and replumb it is much better to be out, and if you are renovating before moving in, that is the ideal. We will tell you honestly which of the two you have got.
